I went to one of those sites that allow you to set your own price for online hotel reservations, and I really did get an amazing price. I wanted to go to Springfield , Illinois, to see the new Abraham Lincoln Museum so I requested a 3-star room for $50.00 per night while the going rate for that rated hotel was $100. The site that offered the online hotel reservations claimed that I probably wouldn't get it for that price and that I would have to wait 24 hours before I could resubmit for another price. I didn't think I would get it but I did! The place was walking distance to the museum and was a nice place. The lobby had a bellboy and everything. I must admit, the reason it was a 3 star and not a 4 or 5 star was because the rooms were nice, but old. It was obviously a really, really, nice hotel maybe 15-20 years ago. The lobby was gorgeous, though, and the rooms had an ironing board, coffee pot, and hair dryer. Anyway, check out priceline.com for your online hotel reservations, but give yourself time to resubmit higher prices if you don't get it for what you want. I am sold on online hotel reservations from priceline.com.
