I called my friend who likes my dog, so I'll be bringing him to their house and going to the beaches of Southern California where the temperatures are at least 30 degrees colder than it is here. I think walking on the beach will sufficiently chill me to face the rest of the summer once I get back. But I'm not living in the moment here. Cheaper is always better when flying somewhere and the money I'll save on my airfare will go toward taking my hosts out to dinner at the ocean-front restaurant that sits out on a pier. Some of this restaurant juts out over the ocean and besides the food being good, you can't beat spending a nice evening with good food, friends, and wine watching the waves break right before your feet.
