I have found that not every state and country has a reliable public transportation system. I do not let this stop me from going to my favorite vacation spots. By making car reservations I am able to go everywhere I want, on my time. I can make my car reservations while I am making online reservations and often at even better deals.

There was a vacation I took a few years ago that made me decide to always make car reservations when I traveled. My friends and I had planned on touring the historic parts of Salem, Massachusetts. We had read the bus schedule and were expecting it to pick us up around noon. We did not check the weather and had no idea that a large storm was coming in. As we stood outside waiting for the city bus, it started to rain. At first the rain was a light sprinkle and we laughed it off, but soon enough it was an all out downpour. We ran under the bus shelter and waited for twenty minutes until it lightened up enough to use the pay phone across the street to get a taxi back to our rooms.

After that, I have made car reservations for every vacation. I know that I will not be stranded or left to the mercy of the weather without having the protection of a car. Also, it makes it easy to plan my activities in my vacation knowing I am free to go where I want, when I want. I use my past experience to encourage my friends to make their car reservations before going on vacation.
