online reservations
I went to Las Vegas last year for New Years. A few of my friends planned the trip and it was up to me to get the online reservations taken care of. I knew that online reservations were the safest way to ensure that everything worked out the way we had planned it. Since it was for a major holiday, I knew I had to make our online reservations as soon as possible.

The day we arrived to the hotel, we found out that they had overbooked a few of the rooms. People who had called in and made reservations were waiting in the lobby for a solution. Worriedly, one of my friends started to call around to other hotels to see if there was anywhere else we could go. Every hotel on the strip was booked for the whole weekend. I was not worried because I knew that our online reservations were secure.

When we got to the check in counter, the clerk looked nervous to tell us that they were overbooked. I confidently handed her the confirmations from the online reservations I had made. She and I were both relieved when she told us that there was no problem with our rooms. I relayed the news to my friends and we grabbed all of our things and made our way to the rooms. The first toast that night was made to "online reservations".
